Mark and I formed our partnership in 1999 under the common name of The Horizon Group, even though we each owned and ran two separate companies.
Over the last 20+ years as we developed a money management style, the radio show, and a distribution strategy, we grew together and independently. Our relationship has developed and remains stronger than ever. My business continuation plan includes Mark and his team continuing our proven process in the event of my death or disability.
In 2019 as the industry continued to change, we both formed our own independent registered investment advisor (RIA) firms. We did this together, under the direction of council to adapt to industry standards. Although many of our processes are the same, because of two locations this further accentuated the benefit of having two separate RIAs.
Horizon Advisory Services, that is 100% owned by Mark Congdon, is the money management wing that we use. Muchler Financial Services pays a fee to Horizon Advisory Services for this money management.
As we look to the future our industry will continue to change. While every business and industry have its ups and downs, you must be able to rely on the choices you make in terms of appropriate partnerships. Mark is my partner, but more importantly he is a trusted friend who I rely on for honesty and direction.
